United Haven Empowerment Foundation (UHEF)
began as informal peer support groups united by shared experiences of exclusion and marginalization. In the early stages, we used social media to advocate for inclusion and raise awareness about the consistent exclusion we faced from mainstream services and programs.
However, rather than being understood, our advocacy was misinterpreted, and some of our social media pages were shut down. This experience strengthened our commitment to becoming more structured and organized so we could engage in meaningful dialogue, build partnerships, and advocate effectively for inclusion and justice.
As we grew, we expanded our work to include referral support, youth engagement initiatives, climate action, and survivor-centered advocacy. Today, UHEF strengthens community-led solutions that ensure women, children, and youth can access services without discrimination.
Our Core Values
Equity
We prioritize those most excluded from protection systems, designing community-led solutions that remove barriers and ensure dignified, non-discriminatory access to support.
Honesty
We communicate truthfully about community realities, system gaps, and our organizational capacity, building trust through authentic representation and accurate reporting.
Transparency
We uphold clear documentation, ethical partnerships, and accountable financial stewardship to ensure measurable, traceable impact.
Commitment
We are dedicated to long-term, community-driven systems change that restores trust, amplifies marginalized voices, and builds resilient protection pathways.
Accountability
We remain answerable to the communities we serve and the partners who support us by strengthening safeguarding, monitoring, and ethical standards across all programs.
Joint Action
We collaborate with communities, institutions, and partners to strengthen existing systems rather than duplicate them, fostering shared responsibility for sustainable change.
